It is beleived in some quaters that african tradition has not in way aided the civilisation process of the world. The aim of the question is to ascertain to what degree is that assertion true with facts.
Of course Africa was the origin of civilization. Timbuktu, Egypt, etc were all the cradle of civilization. It is only in Africa where the oldest evidence of civilization can be found and especially in East Africa.
Dr. Richard Leakey the world reknowed archeologist discovered traces of the earliest forms of civilization from Olduvai in Kenya.
Whether the traditions of Africa have aided in civilization of today, we will need to redefine civilization because if what you mean is western civilization, then indeed the African context does not come in question.
However there are definitely aspects of African tradition especially in the medicine field which have been heavily borrowed from in the development of the latest technology in Medicine. Many of these drugs that we use today are mere refinements of what was being used traditionally by Africa.
You can also look at the African tradition contributing immensely to the cultural melting pot. Clothing, music, et al of the contemporary (read civilised) society has much influence from the African traditional ways of life.
So African traditions have very much contributed and still contribute to civilization aspects of the world of yester years, today and tommorows.

Are you serious?
Africa has established some of the greatest influences in the world. The pyramids of egypt that cannot be duplicated even in the majesty of our modern technology are one example of the majesty of traditional Africa. The queen of Sheba (mentioned in the Bible) came with a wealth of riches. Timbuktu was a world cultural center, as was Alexandra, Egypt. Christopher Columbus passed African ships on his way to "discover" America.
I wish I knew more of what you mean by traditional. If you mean traditional in a custom/familial sense, Africa/Africans have always been a leader in some way. It was an African who led the Children of Israel to the Promised Land (guided by God). It was the son of an African slave who led to voting rights for blacks and woman in America (Frederick Douglas).
I don’t even know where to begin to answer your question. The influences of African culture into global society is so pervasive that it’s not seperable.
