when the rains began? I don’t see it, yet it is often preached and taught as if it is there, and as if we all know where to find it. It is possible that I have looked right over it, but in searches of the words ‘noah’ and ‘ark’ in online Bibles as well as reading text, I do not see it. If you wish to answer, please do not post opinion on human behavior or accounts from tradition but a reference to chapter and verse in the accepted canon of Scripture. Thanks for your help.
To all — thanks for your help. In personal study, I have been confronted with the possibility that Noah was told to build his ark where it wasn’t seen by others. Not enough room here to say more on that, but we can’t add to what is there and teach it — God could be intending to tell us something else.

Morpheus – that is possible, though I think it was being taught that way before the first movie was ever filmed.

Sandra –I saw that in Peter’s epistle, but it doesn’t say that he preached while building the ark. Picky, I know.

It’s in the New Testament:

2 Peter 2:5 "Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly…"

But it doesn’t say anywhere that people pounded on the door

"….The FBI is taking cues from the CIA to recruit thousands of covert informants in the United States as part of a sprawling effort to boost its intelligence capabilities.

According to a recent unclassified report to Congress, the FBI expects its informants to provide secrets about possible terrorists and foreign spies, although some may also be expected to aid with criminal investigations, in the tradition of law enforcement confidential informants. The FBI did not respond to requests for comment on this story…."

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/07/fbi-proposes-bu.html

OK, now I’m really scared……
Why can’t we all just be vigilant? The FBI needs to be "handlers"????
Windbagmama…Excellent moniker….Apropos.
I don’t belong to any party and don’t believe I ever said I did….

Get all your friends and relatives to join the FBI’s ‘rat patrol’ and then call in all kinds of BS. Call in ‘flying saucer’ reports, ‘arabs’ disguised as Klingons and strange people taking pictures of the local firehouse. Just load ‘em up with all kinds of $%#^ until they get the news that this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and we don’t become finks, rats or snitches. The FBI has a zillion dollar budget and thousands of agents…if they can’t do their job they should quit and let someone who can have a crack at it…we shouldn’t have to do their work for them. Once you get started on ‘denouncing’ your neighbors it soon gets out of hand…everyone is denouoncing everyone else…very Stalinist….very un-American!

Every year my family goes on a trip to pick out our Christmas tree, and each year I’m just as excited as the last. Christmas tunes play loudly in our van as my brother and I play games with our families close friends, Andrea, Sam and Bryan. When we look out the window as we turn into the dirt parking the freshly fallen snow glistening from the suns reflection and our smiles even grow bigger. We always have looked forward to cutting down the tree and after picking out gingerbread men and drinking hot apple cider. As the van comes to a stop we all put on our thick jackets, gloves, and hats and hop out of the van and meet up with Andrea’s, Bryan’s, and Sam’s parents. Who drive separately so they are able to get there own Christmas tree. We hold the three kids hands as we cross the street. Sam always runs to where Santa is handing out candy canes and gives him a big hug. My brother and I have to usually pry the three kids away from Santa.
As we wait for the our parents to catch up we wait behind the rope for the next hayride to come pick us up, and we debate on what type of Christmas tree to get this year. As we look at the many different sample tree’s, should we choose the Scotch pine, White and Blue spruce, Balsam Fir? We always end up picking out a White Pine. By time our parents have caught up were usually already loading up on the hayride. When the seats are packed the tractor starts up and pulls us to our destination.
Finally when we come to a stop everyone jumps off and each family grabs a saw. Us kids get to work running through the rows of trees trying to find the perfect one to saw down and take home. My brother and I always like the biggest trees, and my dad makes the final decision. He check each of our tree’s stumps to see which one would fit the best in the tree stand. When he picks one, my brother and I like to take turns sawing the tree. Eventually the tree falls down and we start heading back to the front of the big patch of trees, trying not to trip over any stumps. Once everyone is loaded on the hayride we all hold on to the tree tightly and enjoy the ride to the tree wrapping building.
Once we get there a worker takes our tree and puts it on a machine that shakes off all the loose needles, then we move over to the last part where our tree is wrapped in a orange rope and is now ready to take home. With freezing cherry colored cheeks and noses we go into the heated building where we each pick out a gingerbread person, and either hot apple cider or hot chocolate. Now were ready to set back out into the crisp cold air and make our way back to the car for a fun ride back home with Christmas tunes playing and a Christmas tree tied down on the top of our vans.

please tell me where to fix any punctuation, grammer, errors, or any places you think i need to fix, or add things.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
ill give you 10 points best answer.

I love it! It’s great, go for it!

Im 13 and I want to build my own tribe of people to live in the mountains. I want to create a tradition like that on the Hunza, a longevity tribe in the Himalayan Mountains who eat very healthy and live over 100. This is the kind of tribe I want to create. I’m talking about getting a bunch of people together that I know and living int he mountains alone from the toxicity of civilization. A relatively small group of people who share the same interests in diet and longevity. The thing is that I’m homeschooled. How could I do that?

First you need to grow up. Then come and ask the question again.

I am really sick of all the stupidy around the world and how the govt mistreats its citizens so I have come to the conclusion that the only way to escape it is to start a new country built on an artificial island in international waters. It would have complete democracy so that its citizens could directly vote on the laws and the govt would not be able to do anything without the citizens approval. To keep the country as safe and smart as possible it would screen all citizens wishing to immigrate. A cornerstone would be logic and common sense so everything could be rethought from scratch instead of taking from tradition. Taxes would be much lower than any other country because the govt would be kept in check of its spending, there would not be a offensive military force to sustain and there would not be people leaching of society. Do you think that this possible and what hurdles would the citizens face during the setup of this country? (Only serious answers please.)

Yes, if you have the money go for it. 60 miles outside of any country is considered international waters and is owned by no one. That is why gambling boats go out that far. They can then avoid local laws.
The only problem is, you’d also be responsible for your own defense. Pirates might take your island and then you’d be dead, or at least homeless.

The Empire State Building in New York will be lit up green to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid.

New York’s tallest building already celebrates Christmas, the Jewish festival of Hannukah and St Patrick’s Day by changing the colour scheme of its three tiers of night-time lights.

However, it is the first time that the 1,454ft building’s management has marked a Muslim celebration in a city on which the legacy of the Sept 11 attacks still weighs heavily.
Eid al-Fitr, the festival of fast-breaking, marks the end of Ramadan and lasts from Friday until Sunday.

The building’s management said in a statement: "This is the first time that the Empire State Building will be illuminated for Eid, and the lighting will become an annual event in the same tradition of the yearly lightings for Christmas and Hannukah."

An estimated seven million Muslims live in the United States.

I loved it and thought it’s only appropriate that the US, the melting pot of the world, acknowledges Islam. Many people may object, but that’s ok. The US was built on freedoms, including freedom of religion and freedom of expression. I am American born and bred and Muslim by choice. I think it’s only fair that a major holiday celebrated by millions of Americans be acknowledged.

Someone in my office building cuts off a baby rose at it the end of its head and puts it in the sink. It’s intentional. There is always a white, almost pink, rose head in our sinks at work. I take them out and throw them away because it was grossing me out for a while, but now I know that it isn’t by accident that they’re there. They’re being put there by someone on the floor. Is this a tradition of some sort? Does anyone know why it would be there??

The simplest reason of all–to keep it fresh until later.

Why are you so judgemental? What right do you have to throw away something which is not yours?
What in the world could "gross you out" about a rose-bud?

If, as already suggested, someone has left it as a token of esteem for another (even you), what is the harm? If you are not telling us all, could you be jealous?

I would suggest you purchase a small, inexpensive specimen vase, or at worst, bring a small glass or jar to work, and put the next one in it in water. This way you can make up for your nastiness to a fellow worker, whoever that may be.

When [Prescott] Bush Sr. and another Skull and Bones joker stole Geronimo’s skull from his grave in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, they took it to the windowless Skull and Bones building on the Yale campus, and hid it like a dog would a bone. The Apaches were darn mad. Decades later, when they came to Yale to try to get their main man’s skull back, a representative of the Apaches claimed that the Bonesmen tried to palm someone else’s skull off on them.

. . . (Bonesmen have few secrets from each other, but the rest of the world is for lying to. Like [fore]fathers, like son. George Bush [Sr.] matured in a moral atmosphere where lying was an art form – and Bush has had lots of practice. As Director of the CIA, he . . . kept the CIA’s dirty secrets. . . . As Vice President . . . Bush helped arm the contras at a time when that was against the law – and he lied like a rug about it. By the time he became President in his own right in 1989, George Bush {Sr.] was the most accomplished liar in American politics.
