You all misunderstood my posts. I was responding to the myth that the US is overcrowded. That and that alone is not true. I do not believe that we should give citizenship to people who have come here illegally, no matter what. Illegals are being used as wage slaves and as the next Democrat voting bloc. Let’s put this into perspective since the population of the US has grown so much. The percentage of immigrants of the US population reached a peak in the first decade of the 20th Century, not the 21st Century. In 1900 immigrants represented nearly 10% of the US population. Today that number is down to about 1%, down from 3% in 1990. The only time in our entire history it has been this low was during the Great Depression. In other words, this video is a tempest in a teapot.

I saw a something similar to this at Ellis Island. They have a display that outlines immigration in detail, decade’s, country, number of immigrants etc. All in the form of can sized stacked cylinders. The tallest from the early 1900′s -Eastern European. They go about knee high.
When it gets to the years1980 – 2000, the cylinders stack to about 16 feet high from floor to ceiling and read -Central and South America.
And I imagine thats only the documented immigrants.

Very good video, very informative, I knew about the number of illegal immigrants, but didn’t have any idea about the recent “LEGAL” number of immigrants.
We do need an immigration reform, but an immigration reform for the better, we should support traditional immigration (making it easier for families NOT extended relatives) to come to the US.
