I have to make a 3 minutes oral presentation in Chinese class about a Chinese tradition. What should I talk about? I was think about Chinese new year but thought I might not be able to talk about the whole Chinese new year in 3 minutes. Should I talk about the Mid-Autumn festival or another Chinese festival? Let’s hear some suggestions! Thanks!
Why don’t you pick just one part of the Chinese New Year, like giving money to little Children in a red envelope, or eating Dumpling the New Year’s day, etc. There are so many traditions you can cover in 3 minutes, such as the moon cake Chinese eat at the moon festival; sending gift to each other specially during the holidays; respect the elderly, help the younger; Good luck with your presentation.

Talk about their religious tradition, which you can compare it to your own religion and tradition.
they worship idols and their ancestors, each time they worship, they will use altar table and put lots of fruit and nice chinese food. And certainly, their religious believe is very different from the western world
And then you can talk bout how they celebrate different special holidays because most holidays they have to either worship their gods or ancestors.

Chinese people inventions, like pasta, which the italians, like Marco Polo, brought to Europe and make the "macaroni"
They invented the powder and rockets for fire works.
One of the inventions was the clock, wich the imperator decide to build and was like an house, the machinery turns by water, and had the first "stops" devices to do the scapes of the weels, to move in an scale that folows the movements of the stars!!! So they can preview the seasons and the flows of the rivers, the time to do the plantation of rice, etc.

I believe how chinese spend their chinese new year will be te best topic to talk about. Chinese love to spend their new year with a huge family and spend the entire night together.
